On Wednesday 16 April, Friends of the Walks will host two groups of pilgrims who will be travelling to Walsingham from Leicester and Nottingham via the Red Mount.
The pilgrims, who will be walking the 112-mile distance carrying a 30kg wooden cross, will be welcomed by the Borough Mayor Cllr Paul Bland and are expected to arrive between 2.30 and 3.30 pm.
The Friends of the Walks will be providing the pilgrims with refreshments during their stop at the Red Mount.

Heritage Open Day: Sunday 14 September. The Red Mount Chapel will be open between 10 am and 4 pm. There will be various activities in The Walks. Watch this space for more information.
King’s Lynn parkrun is a free timed 5 km run in The Walks starting at 9 am each Saturday.
Runners should register first at parkrun and be at The Walks Café for the run briefing which takes place at 8:50am. It open to all regardless of age or ability and walkers are also welcome as are parents with buggies, runners with dogs (must be on a short hand held lead) and wheel chair users although they must be able to get themselves around the course unaided. You can hear live music at the Bandstand in the Walks every Sunday afternoon during the summer.
Bands will play 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Music will include brass bands, jazz, folk and pop.
